  • Mechanics can register online for testing through Jan. 15 before temporary pause to online test registration

    As announced previously, because of system upgrades, the Michigan Secretary of State’s online mechanic test registration system will be temporarily offline beginning Jan. 15. Mechanics will still be able to make an appointment and take the test in person at all Secretary of State branch offices. The online registration system will come back online March 15 as part of the launch of new online and self-service station options for Secretary of State customers  . . .

    Michigan’s election was conducted fairly and securely, and the results accurately reflect the will of Michigan voters, the majority of whom cast ballots for President-elect Joe Biden.

    “This was the most successful election in our state’s history, in which a record-setting 5.5 million citizens cast ballots, and clerks and election workers processed every vote meticulously, fairly and efficiently, despite the challenges of the pandemic,” said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson  . . .

The final numbers — 9,759 for Donald Trump and 5,959 for Joe Biden — represent a net gain of 12 votes for Trump, largely mirroring the machine-tabulation results from Nov. 3.  . . .
