General management plans are used to define long-range planning and management strategies that protect a state park's resources while addressing recreation and educational needs and opportunities. Mapping and inventorying state forest roads is an ongoing effort, with reviews being completed on the ground by DNR staff as well as an in-depth review of public comments each year:

Public Input on State Forest Planning

We want you to be involved in state forest planning - also known as our compartment review process. Our plans for the forest include harvesting timber, planting trees, prescribed burning and maintaining fields and open areas – activities that help to provide wildlife habitat, control invasive species and improve the overall health of the forest.

Look over proposals, view maps of the affected areas and provide feedback.
